Mother's Day Brunch
On Sunday, May 11, at 11am and 2:30pm, The Colonnade at Fairmont Washington, D.C., Georgetown is honoring all mothers with a bountiful Mother’s Day Brunch. An authentically local and favorite of Washingtonians, the Colonnade’s brunch has pleased the palates of many mothers and their families for over 39 years.
Executive Chef Jaime Montes de Oca and Senior Sous Chef Delonte Avery are preparing a variety of regional favorites and innovative specialties, all artfully styled in seemingly infinite buffets. The beautiful setting, featuring greenery, natural sunlight, soaring ceilings and crystal chandeliers, is a perfect backdrop for Mother’s Day Brunch.
Among the Chefs’ Mother’s Day Brunch offerings is a waterfront display featuring jumbo poached shrimp, snow crab, Dutch mussels, Chesapeake oysters and smoked whitefish with Marie Rose sauce, cocktail mignonette and hot dipping sauces.
A cheese and charcuterie board with local cheeses, smoked, cured and air-dried meats and artisanal breads, along with a garden-fresh salad presentation, adds to Mother’s special day.
Entrée selections include a carving station of poached king salmon and 1855 filet mignon, and signature dishes of Peri-Peri chicken and Chesapeake crab cakes are local favorites.
A made-to-order omelet station, breakfast favorites and freshly backed pastries also abound. Sundried tomato egg frittata, traditional eggs benedict and brŭléed French toast and Belgian waffles are served with Stachowki’s chicken sausage and potato.
The children’s buffet includes crispy chicken fingers, Wagyu beef sliders, potato pancakes, buttery broccolini and the ever-popular macaroni and cheese.
Save room for the decadent pastry display-guaranteed to please any mother’s sweet tooth. Cherry Pana cotta, mango passion fruit tarts and red chocolate hearts are just a sampling of the patisserie offerings.
An electric violinist will provide musical entertainment, and all mothers will receive a beautiful flower to commemorate their special day.
The Colonnade is located in Fairmont Washington, D.C., Georgetown at 2401 M St., NW, in the city’s stylish West End. Mother’s Day Brunch, offered on Sunday, May 11 at 11am and at 2:30pm is $169 per person includes a glass of sparkling wine. Children enjoy brunch for $79 for children 5 to 12 years old and free for children under 5.
